The Setanta House Hotel is located on the edge of the beautiful historic Dublin
City suburb of Celbridge in County Kildare. Celbridge is a growing town on the
River Liffey about 12 miles from Dublin. This town is steeped with charm and
character. The River Liffey flows through the town giving an air of peaceful,
watery stillness. The Irish name for Celbridge is "Cill Droicid", meaning "the
church of the bridge".
Castletown House, Ireland 's finest Palladian country house, is an imposing
building established in the town in the year 1722. Celbridge will always be remembered
as the home of Vanessa, the ill-starred lover of Dean Swift. The town has a deep
historical background ranging from Celbridge Abbey with Jonathan Swift to Castletown
House.
The hotel is also situated close to the K Club, one of Ireland's premier golf
clubs, which is home to the Smurfit European Open and the 2006 Ryder Cup.

Directions from Dublin Airport/Northern Ireland
On leaving the airport head for the M50 (westward bound) Continue through toll
bridge (costs €1.80) and take the next slip road off to left signposted
for Lucan and Palmerstown. Take the M4 (West bound) heading towards Lucan. Continue
along the M4 passing the Lucan Spa Hotel and take the next slip road to the left
marked for Celbridge/Leixlip. Take the next left turn and drive straight until
you reach Celbridge. Drive over the bridge and to the left and continue for less
than quarter of a mile where you shall see the hotel on the left hand side.
Directions from Dublin City
Drive along the Quays towards Heuston station. Get on to the M4 and continue
straight until you pass the Lucan Spa Hotel on the left hand side and take the
next slip road to the left marked ‘Celbridge/ Leixlip’. Continue
to the left and follow as above.
